David Bailey Hayes (1847-1898) was an American deputy US Marshal who lived in Tumbleweed, Apache County, Arizona during the 1890s. In 1898, he and several other Marshals were gunned down in a massive nighttime shootout with Ansaldo Escamilla's associates Arizona Kid and Little Pete as they attempted to steal two horses from a ranch in Tumbleweed which was under the Marshals' protection.
