David A

David Aiken Reed (21 December 1880-10 February 1953) was a US Senator from Pennsylvania (R) from 8 August 1922 to 3 January 1935, succeeding William E. Crow and preceding Joseph F. Guffey.

Biography[]

David Aiken Reed was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1880, and he practiced law in Pittsburgh from 1903 to 1917 and served as a US Army artilleryman during World War I. Following the death of William E. Crow, he was appointed to serve out the remainder of his term in the US Senate before being re-elected, serving from 1922 to 1935. He resumed his law practice until his death in 1953.
