Dave Loebsack (23 December 1952-) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-IO 2) from 3 January 2007 to 3 January 2021, succeeding Jim Leach and preceding Mariannette Miller-Meeks.
Biography[]
Dave Loebsack was born in Sioux City, Iowa in 1952, and he worked as a political science professor at Cornell College before starting the Linn Phoenix group, a fundraising arm of the Linn County Democratic Party. In 2006, he was elected to the US House of Representatives, eventually becoming the only Democrat in Iowa's congressional delegation by 2014. He was a member of the Progressive Democrats. He retired in 2020.
