
Darrell Edward Issa (1 November 1953-) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-CA 48) from 3 January 2001 to 3 January 2003 (succeeding Ron Packard and preceding Christopher Cox), from CA 49 from 3 January 2003 to 3 January 2019 (succeeding Susan Davis and preceding Mike Levin), and from CA 50 from 3 January 2021 (succeeding Duncand D. Hunter).
Biography[]
Darrell Edward Issa was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1953, and he co-founded Directed Electronics in 1982, serving as its CEO. His company became one of the largest makers of automobile aftermarket security and convenience products in the United States; he was frequently listed as the wealthiest member of the US Congress during his tenure. He was elected to Congress in 2000, and he supported all of Donald Trump's policies, marking himself as a staunch conservative. He decided to retire in 2018, but he returned to the US Congress in 2020 amid a Republican resurgence in Congress.
