Darcy Adams (2 November 1979-) was a British UKIP politician and far-right activist who served on the Bromland Town Council from 22 July 2018, succeeding Aubrey Lawson.

Biography[]

Darcy Adams was born in Bromland, Lincolnshire, England on 2 November 1979 to a working-class English family. Adams worked at a music store until it closed down in 2010, and, while the store's closure was most likely caused by the popularization of iPods and, soon after, music streaming services, Adams was led to believe by her friends and family that the influx of South Asian immigrants was to blame. Adams was recruited into UKIP's 2013 local election campaign by her white supremacist friend group, and she soon became an active anti-immigration campaigner and far-right activist. In 2018, Adams was persuaded to run for the Bromland Town Council and challenge the small business owner Aubrey Lawson of the Liberal Democrats. The centrist Liberal Democrats had been in decline as the result of increased political polarization between left and right, and in the aftermath of Shuaib Abdullah's corruption scandal. Meanwhile, UKIP had been on the rise because of rising anti-immigrant sentiment in Bromland, and the UKIP electoral list picked up another seat in the 2018 local elections, enabling Adams to take a seat on the town council, while the Liberal Democrats were reduced to one seat, forcing Lawson to leave the council after five years of service.
