Daraa Governorate is one of the fourteen provinces of Syria, located along the border with Jordan to the south. The governorate is named for its capital of Daraa, and the governorate has been the location of fighting between the Syrian Arab Army and the Syrian Opposition during the Syrian Civil War, specifically the FSA Southern Front, Yarmouk Martyrs Brigade, Ahrar ash-Sham, and al-Nusra Front in addition to some other groups.
