Daniel V. Lane (1985-2018) was a Blaine County, California sheriff. In 2018, Lane and Kyle L. Dudley were sent to take down Slugs Piombino after he robbed Adán Zayas Zamora's liquor store. They tracked him down to a racetrack, where he ambushed them, gunned them down in the seats of their vehicle, and stole their police car.
