
Daniel Thomas McCarty (18 January 1912-28 September 1953) was the Democratic Governor of Florida from 6 January to 28 September 1953, succeeding Fuller Warren and preceding Charley Eugene Johns.
Biography[]
Daniel Thomas McCarty was born in Fort Pierce, Florida in 1912, and he worked as a cattleman and citrus grower before serving as a colonel in the US Army during World War II. He served in the State House from 1937 to 1941 and as Governor in 1953, and he died of a heart attack while in office.
