
Daniel Rose (31 July 1772-25 October 1833) was the Democratic-Republican Governor of Maine from 2 to 5 January 1822, succeeding Benjamin Ames and preceding Albion Parris.
Biography[]
Daniel Rose was born in Branford, Connecticut in 1772, and he settled in Alna, Maine before becoming a physician in Boothbay. He served in the State Senate from 1820 to 1824 and as acting governor in 1822, after which he moved to Thomaston to supervise the state prison. He died in 1833.
