Dan McKee

Daniel James McKee (16 June 1951-) was the Democratic Governor of Rhode Island from 2 March 2021, succeeding Gina Raimondo.

Biography[]

Daniel James McKee was born in Cumberland, Rhode Island in 1951, and he ran a health and fitness business for over 30 years. McKee served on the Cumberland Town Council from 1992 to 1998, as Mayor from 2001 to 2005 and from 2007 to 2015, as Lieutenant Governor from 2015 to 2021, and as Governor from 2021. McKee assumed office after Governor Gina Raimondo resigned in order to serve as United States Secretary of Commerce, and he won re-election to a full term in 2022.
