
Dan Kildee (born 11 August 1958) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-MI 5) from 3 January 2013 to 3 January 2023 (succeeding Dale Kildee and preceding Tim Walberg) and from MI-5 from 3 January 2023 to 3 January 2025 (succeeding Elissa Slotkin and preceding Kristen McDonald Rivet).
Biography[]
Dan Kildee was born in Flint, Michigan in 1958, and he was elected to the Flint Board of Education in 1977 at the age of 18, making him one of the youngest elected officials in the nation. In 1984, he was elected to the Genesee County Board of Commissioners, serving for 12 years (including five years as board chairman). He also served as County Treasurer from 1996 to 2012, when he was elected to succeed his uncle Dale Kildee in the US House of Representatives.
