Biography[]

Shelley Marshaun Massenburg-Smith was born in Landstuhl, Rhineland-PalatinateWest Germany on 3 August 1988, the son of a female US Army soldier. He was raised in Hampton, Virginia for as long as he could remember, and he found his hometown to be boring, as it was a very old American city in which everyone knew each other, everyone held old values highly, and open-mindedness was frowned upon. The Massenburg family had been native to Hampton since the 17th century, with William Massenburg serving as Postmaster of Hampton from 1823 to 1826 and from 1841 to 1860. He spent most of his time in nearby Norfolk, and he became a hip-hop musician under the name "D.R.A.M." (standing for "Does Real-Ass Music"). In March 2015, he released his debut EP, and he released his hit single "Broccoli" in April 2016, having collaborated with Lil Yachty. On 21 October 2016, he released his debut album "Big Baby D.R.A.M.".
