
Darryl Lynn Hughley (6 March 1963-) was an American actor, comedian, and political commentator.
Biography[]
Darryl Lynn Hughley was born in Portsmouth, Virginia in 1963, and he was raised in Los Angeles, California and was involved with the Bloods during his troubled teenage years. He eventually turned his back on gang life and earned his GED before coming to work for The Los Angeles Times. Hughley became a comedian during the 1990s and appeared on BET, writing, producing, and starring in his own sitcom show, The Hughleys. In 2008, he became the host of a comedic news-show on CNN. Amid the 2020 racial justice protests, he spoke out against corrupt policemen being allowed to keep their jobs and argued that such policemen had to be disciplined.
