Cyrus being shot

Cyrus was the President of "The Gramercy Riffs", the largest street gang in New York City, which was based in Manhattan's Gramercy Park neighborhood. Cyrus and his gang became the most powerful and most respected gang in the city by 1979, and he called for nine delegates from 100 gangs to meet in The Bronx to discuss creating a united gang, which could outnumber the New York Police Department five-to-one (the gang would have 20,000 hardcore members, 40,000 counting affiliates, and 60,000 counting those ready to fight, but unorganized; the NYPD had 28,000 policemen). During his speech, he was shot by a member of The Rogues, and his murder was blamed on another gang, The Warriors.
