
Cynan ap Hywel (955-1015) was Prince of Gwynedd from 999 to 1005, succeeding Maredudd ab Owain and preceding Aeddan ap Blegywryd.
Biography[]
Cynan ap Hywel was the great-grandson of Idwal Foel, the ruler of Gwynedd, and the death of Maredudd ab Owain in 999 led to Cynan inheriting the throne of Gwynedd. He reigned until 1005, when he was supplanted by Aeddan ap Blegywryd, and he died in 1015.
