Curtis Malloy (born 1845) was the Sheriff of Valentine, Nebraska during the 1890s and 1900s.
Biography[]
Curtis Malloy was appointed the Republican Sheriff of Valentine, Nebraska before 1899, and he was a mostly law-abiding man (apart from his illicit affair with Moira Calthorpe) who created a professional and tough police force. In 1899, the outlaw Arthur Morgan was employed by Malloy as a bounty hunter, taking down Benedict Allbright and Ellie Anne Swan for him. In 1899, he strangled Calthorpe to death on the second floor of the sheriff's office after she demanded that they end their relationship, but Malloy was never indicted, and he was still sheriff in 1907.
