Creon of Corinth (died 1236 BC) was the King of Corinth, the father of Glauce, and the father-in-law of Jason.
Biography[]
Creon was the son of Lycaethus, the king of Corinth, and Glauce was his daughter. In 1236 BC, Creon allowed for Jason and his barbarian wife Medea to take up residence in Corinth, and he expressed consent for Jason to marry his daughter Glauce. Ultimately, he fell into Medea's revenge plot, as Medea gave Glauce robes which set on fire. Creon, worrying about his daughter, attempted to douse the flames, only to burn as well.
