Coyote Huamancu

Coyote Huamancu was an Inca warrior in the service of England.

Biography[]

Coyote Huamancu was born in South America to a tribe of Inca people, and he initially adhered to animism. However, in 1583 he was recruited by England with other Huaminca warriors, and he was nicknamed "Coyote Huamancu", with his last name being a corruption of "Huaminca". Huamancu was baptized as a Protestant at the colony of Billingsby, and he fought for the English against the rival settlements, accompanying the English explorer in setting up trading posts and taking part in the destruction of the Portuguese, Spanish, French, and Dutch colonies.
