Biography[]
Coyote Bongwater was born in 1939, and he was raised in a communist and pacifist family. He became interested in Eastern philosophy and drugs during the counterculture era, moving to San Francisco and becoming a well-known guru based from his apartment in Haight-Ashbury. Bongwater was deeply spiritual, educating youths about Hinduism; he acquired a reputation as a womanizer, romancing his protege Prudence Kane. Bongwater was an idealistic visionary, planning to start a revolution against "capitalist consumerism" in the United States and creating the "Bay City Super-Organic Communal Collective and Compost Farm" in San Francisco. Bongwater founded the American Liberation Front and established a commune at the Golden Gate Park, where hippies gathered to hold love-ins, concerts, and protests. Bongwater also became a Soviet agent, working with KGB agent Ivan Oranchov to plan a revolution on the streets of San Francisco. In 1969, Bongwater and Oranchov planned to introduce the soft drink "Revelade" to the population, rotting their braincells and enabling the Soviets to manipulate them into launching a communist revolution. However, several vans and water tanks containing Revelade were mysteriously destroyed, and remotely piloted dirigibles flying over San Francisco filled with Revelade were later said to have been shot down by a lone hippie terrorist known only as "Mary Jane." According to Bongwater's followers, an alien bent on thwarting the Soviets' plans attempted to kill Bongwater at his apartment, and later tracked him down to a base under the Presidio of San Francisco, where the paranoid Bongwater had relocated. The alien overwhelmed Bongwater, who called Oranchov on the radio and told him that his plans to distribute Revelade had failed. Oranchov informed him that San Francisco was now useless to the KGB, and that the Soviets planned to destroy the city with nuclear bombs, before thanking Bongwater for his services and saying that his death would not be in vain. The distraught Bongwater was electrocuted to death by the alien, and several vans carrying Revelade were dumped into the San Francisco Bay by the alien's saucer, according to several hippies.
