County Meath

County Meath is a county of Ireland located in the province of Leinster. The county had a population of 184,135 people in 2011, and the county is named after the historical Kingdom of Meath. Meath was once the seat of the High King of Ireland (in Trim) during the Middle Ages, and the Lordship of Meath existed under the Kingdom of England in the 1200s. For these reasons, Meath is nicknamed "the Royal County".
