
Count Radbot of Aargau (985-1045) was Count of Aargau from 1027 to 1045, succeeding Count Berthold of Aargau and preceding Count Werner of Aargau. He was the progenitor of the House of Habsburg.
Biography[]
Radbot was the son of Lanzelin of Klettgau and younger brother of Bishop Werner I of Strasbourg, and he was the first member of the House of Habsburg. He built Habsburg Castle around 1025, located 21.7 miles to the southwest of Klettgau in the Swabia region of Germany, and on his death in 1045 his son succeeded him as Count Werner of Aargau.
