Count Obeko of Viscaya (720-) was a noble of the Kingdom of Asturias.
Biography[]
Obeko was born in 720 to the House of Alava, a dynasty of Catholic Basques. He was the leader of the rebellion against King Froila I of Asturias during his reign sometime during the late 750s or early 760s, and his daughter Munia Obekez was taken by Froila as a wife. He remained a noble under Froila and his successor Aurelio of Asturias after the Basque Duchy made peace with the Kingdom of Asturias.
