Biography[]

High Chief Kitbuqa of Aleppo declared war on him in 1265 to press his claim on the County of Syunik, and Khagan Teguder Khan of the Ilkhanate declared war on Atabeg in hopes of conquering his pocket of resistance. His city of Ghapan fell on 30 July 1265, Areni on 6 August, and Noravank on 15 August, and Atabeg surrendered, becoming one of Kitbuqa's vassals.
