Count Ali of Zeila (29 January 741-9 January 775) was the Count of Zeila under the Kingdom of Berbera from 769 to 775, preceding Count Kadhafo of Zeila.
Biography[]
Ali was born in 741 to the Zeilids, a dynasty of Muslim Somalis, and he was granted the County of Zeila in 769 by King Yusuf of Berbera after the region was conquered from the Shirazid Emirate. He married Countess Yasmin of Zeila and Countess Mulki of Zeila, being polygamous. Ali died on 9 January 775 of poor health at the age of 33, and his son Count Kadhafo of Zeila succeeded him.
