Convergencia, formally known as the Citizens' Movement since 2011, is a social democratic political party in Mexico, founded in 1998. During the 2000 general election, the party allied with the Party of the Democratic Revolution, the Labor Party of Mexico, the Party of the Nationalist Society, and ex-Institutional Revolutionary Party dissidents, and it won one senate seat and two Chamber of Deputies seats. In 2003, it won five Chamber of Deputies seats during a unilateral election campaign, and it allied with the PRD and the Labor Party during the 2006 general election. The party supported democratic socialism and participatory democracy, as well as environmentalism and feminism.
