Constitution Avenue is a major east-west street in northern Washington DC. It western section was greatly lengthened and widened from 1925 to 1933, and it was named on 26 February 1931, honoring the US Constitution. Its western half defines the northern border of the National Mall and extends from the United States Capitol to the Roosevelt Bridge.
