
Constantine III of Armenia (1277-1308) was King of Armenian Cilicia from 1298 to 1299, succeeding Smbat IV and preceding Hethum II.
Biography[]
Constantine Hetoumian was born in 1277, the son of King Leo III of Armenia and the brother of Hethum, Thoros, and Smbat. He helped Smbat usurp the throne from their older brothers in 1296, having Hethum blinded and Thoros murdered. However, in 1298, Constantine allied with Hethum by overthrowing and imprisoning Smbat, and, in 1299, Hethum had Constantine imprisoned before he could help Smbat seize power a second time. He died in prison in 1308.
