Constans II

Constans II (379-18 August 411), also known as Custennin ap Custennin, was the co-emperor of the Western Roman Empire with his father Flavius Claudius Constantinus from 407 to 411.

Biography[]

Constans was born in 379 AD, the son of the Roman general Flavius Claudius Constantinus. He was the elder brother of Ieliyn and Ambrosius Aurelianus, and, in 407, his father made him Caesar of the Western Roman Empire after he usurped the throne. Constans was elevated to Augustus in 409, making him co-emperor with his father, but he was captured at the siege of Vienne in 411 and executed.
