Constance of Aragon, Holy Roman Empress (1 April 1300-) was Holy Roman Empress from 26 April 1316 as the consort of Emperor Friedrich the Usurper.

Biography[]

Constance of Aragon was born on 1 April 1300, the daughter of King James II of Aragon. Constance was a member of the powerful House of Barcelona, which ruled Aragon, and she was betrothed to marry the Austrian duke Frederick IV on 10 May 1313 at the age of thirteen. On 26 April 1316, after coming of age, she married Frederick, who had become Holy Roman Emperor by that time. Constance became Holy Roman Empress, and she had a favorable opinion of her husband upon marrying him.
