Biography[]
Constance of Aragon was born in 1179, the eldest daughter of Alfonso II of Aragon and Sancha of Castile, Queen of Aragon. She married Emeric of Hungary in 1198, bearing him a son (the future Ladislaus III of Hungary) but Emeric died in 1204; she remarried to Frederick II of Germany on 15 August 1209, as Pope Innocent III wanted someone to marry his pupil. She bore him Henry (VII) of Germany, a rebellious son who would later be stripped of his titles.
