The Conservatory Garden is a formal garden near the northeastern corner of Central Park in Manhattan, New York City. The 6-acre garden was developed by Ignatz Anton Pilat, and a greenhouse existed on the site from 1898 to 1935. Robert Moses had the obsolete greenhouse destroyed in 1935 and replaced with a garden built by the Works Progress Administration in 1937. By the 1970s, the garden had become a wasteland, but it was restored and partially replanted during the 1980s before being reopened in June 1987. During the 2020s, the garden underwent another renovation.
