Liberalism

Conservative liberalism is a political ideology that represents the right wing of the liberal movement, serving as more positive and less radical variant of classical liberalism. Conservative liberals tend to combine economic liberalism with traditional stances on social and ethical issues; neoconservatism is seen as an ideological relative or twin of conservative liberalism. Conservative liberals typically draw inspiration from the ancient philosophers (such as those of ancient Greece and Rome) instead of from John Locke and Immanuel Kant, therefore supporting both moralism and some liberal policies. The Southern Democrats were conservative liberals, as many of them supported Franklin D. Roosevelt's liberal New Deal economic programs during the 1930s, while also supporting racial segregation and religious moralism.
