Conservative Party of Panama

The Conservative Party was a conservative political party in Panama that was founded in 1903. The party inherited the views of the Colombian Conservative Party, and it rivalled the Liberal Party of Panama in elections. However, the conservatives had never fully identified with the independence movement, and they were not able to develop a mass following. After 1912, the Liberal Party had continuous electoral success, and the party lost all of its power during the 1920s; it was formally dissolved in 1952.
