Constanzia "Connie" Corleone (born 1922) was the daughter of Vito and Carmela Corleone and the sister of Sonny, Fredo, Michael, and Tom Hagen. During the 1970s, she served as a close advisor to her brother Michael, serving as an unofficial consigliere of the Corleone crime family; she also played a key role in Vincent Mancini's rise in the family ranks.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Constanzia Corleone was born in New York City in 1922, the daughter of Sicilian immigrants Vito and Carmela Corleone. She was spoiled as a child, and she met her brother's friend Carlo Rizzi at her father's surprise birthday party in 1941, falling in love with him. They married in a Sicilian-style ceremony at the Corleone Compound in August 1945, and the couple moved into an apartment in Hell's Kitchen.
Rizzi squandered the marriage purse on alcohol, drugs, and prostitutes, and he became very abusive towards Connie, beating her regularly. Her brother Sonny Corleone beat up Rizzi in front of his bookmaking operation one day, warning him that he would kill him if he touched his sister again. When Rizzi beat Connie up once more, Sonny flew into a rage and drove out of the Compound by himself with the intent of killing Rizzi, but he was ambushed by gunmen at the Jones Beach Causeway toll plaza and was killed.
Later life[]
In 1955, Michael had Rizzi killed for his role in murdering Sonny, and Connie would hate Michael for years. She dated men and was engaged to Merle Johnson with the sole objective of spiting Michael, but she came back to the family after her mother's death in 1959. By the 1970s, she had become a sort of consigliere to Michael, and she even helped Michael with poisoning her own godfather, Osvaldo Altobello. Corleone also played a major role in grooming her nephew, Vincent Mancini, to become Michael's successor as Don.
