The Confederation of Mozambique (1498-1975), also called Confederate Mozambique, was a satellite state of the Kingdom of Portugal that was established in the present-day African country of Mozambique in Southern Africa in 1498. Mozambique was an absolute monarchy ruled by the Conservative Party as of the 1830s, and was a civilized nation. The confederation ended in 1975 when Mozambique became independent from Portugal.
