Comrade Chin was a Chinese intelligence officer. In 1961, she contacted Beijing Opera actor Song Liling (a cross-dresser who was in an affair with French civil servant Rene Gallimard) and discovered the US plans for the Vietnam War, but she also criticized Song's use of homosexuality (an illegal practice) to obtain classified information from Gallimard. She later had Song head to Paris as a spy in 1970 and continue his affair with Gallimard, who was working back in France; Song continued the affair until 1986 and used it to obtain even more classified information. In 1986, Song and Gallimard were arrested for espionage, but both of them were pardoned, and Gallimard later committed seppuku.
