The Communist Party of Liberia was a communist political party in Liberia that existed from 1878 to 1936. The party advocated a state-run economy, the removal of religion from public life, the extension of full citizenship to all of the ethnic groups in Liberia, and a strong military, and it allied with the African Revolutionary Party, a socialist party that advocated even more extreme war policy views. The Communists and the ARP formed electoral blocs for parliamentary elections, and both advocated anti-colonialism and revolutionary struggle.
