The Communist Party of Georgia is a communist political party in the Republic of Georgia that was founded in 1920. The Communist Party was initially the sole legal party in the Georgian SSR of the Soviet Union, serving as the Georgian branch of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. After the Dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, the Communist Party ceased to be the only legal party, and the party continued as a smaller party that was refounded on 23 February 1992. This party was anti-revisionist, and it held no representation in the government.
