The Communist Party of Bolivia (PCB) is a communist political party in Bolivia that was founded in 1950. The party was initially small and did not hold its first party congress until 1959, and it would later enter the labor movement, albeit serving as a minority force in most unions. During the 1960s, it had around 6,500 members, and the PCB initially supported Che Guevara's planned guerrilla war against Rene Barrientos' government in 1967, although it later grew suspicious of him and did not take part in the failed war. When democracy was restored in the 1980s, the PCB was legalized, but it lost its designation as a recognized party in 2003.
