The Colle Palatino, also called the Palatine Hill, is one of the Seven Hills of Rome. Of the Seven Hills of Rome, the Colle Palatino was the centermost in reference to the city. One of the oldest sectors of Rome, it looked down upon both the Roman Forum and the Circo Massimo. According to Roman mythology, the hill was the location of the cave known as Lupercal where Romulus and Remus were found and kept alive by the she-wolf.
