Cola Cniht-Scribe (died 877) was an Order of the Ancients zealot who was active in 9th-century Leicestershire, England. Scrappy and surprisingly tough, Cola liked to fight close-in but could handle a bow as well; his motto was, "Blood speaks true." He also delivered emergency communications to Gunilla, "the Adze". In 877, the Viking warrior Eivor Wolf-Kissed ambushed Cola at a crossing of the River Soar on the road to Sudwella Monastery, and Eivor stabbed Cola with his hidden blade. In his last words, Cola lamented losing to a man who "reeked of fading glory."
