Club Sunshine was a cabaret club located in the Hozenji Yokocho alley of Dotonbori, Osaka, Japan. It was one of the most successful cabaret clubs in Osaka during the 1980s, although the rise of the corrupt "Five Stars" led to the club's decline, as the Stars harassed the club's clientele and employees, poached its best hostesses, and began to establish a monopoly over the rest of Osaka. In December 1988, however, the club's manager Kunio Youda invited the Cabaret Grand's manager Goro Majima to take over the club and lead it to compete with the Five Stars, and Majima hired new hostesses for the club and returned it to its former glory, while also bringing down the Five Stars.
