Clinton Clauson (28 March 1895-30 December 1959) was the Democratic Governor of Maine from 6 January to 30 December 1959, succeeding Robert Haskell and preceding John H. Reed.
Biography[]
Clinton Clauson was born in Mitchell, Iowa in 1895, and he served in World War I before becoming a chiropractor in Waterville, Maine. He became Mayor in 1956, and he served as Maine's conservative Democratic governor from January 1959 until his death in December.
