Clay Allison was an American outlaw of the Wild West, operating in the American Southwest as a member of the opposition against Mayor Hoodoo Brown and his political machine in Empire City.
Biography[]
Clay Allison was born in Texas, and he served in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. Allison was a corporal in the Texas Mounted Rifles under Captain Thomas Magruder when the cavalry unit was sent on an expedition to New Mexico to search for the fabled city of Quivira, and he retrieved the Cross of Coronado for Magruder during the massacre of an Apache village. Allison would regret not standing up to Magruder as his brother in arms Ned White had done, and he decided to become a figure in the resistance against Magruder's business empire. Allison led a group of outlaws in a canyon outside of Empire City, and these outlaws frequently attacked the lawmen under the corrupt mayor Hoodoo Brown. In 1880, Allison was captured, but he was freed from prison by the late Ned's son Colton White, who killed Brown. Allison worked together with the Apache to fight against Magruder, and he helped in the killing of Magruder in the lost city of Quivira later in 1880. With Magruder dead, some dignity was restored to the Wild West.
