Civic Platform is a liberal-conservative political party in Poland, founded on 24 January 2001. The party was founded as the result of a split in existing conservative political parties, and the party has varying views, incorporating liberalism, liberal conservatism, and Christian democracy into its views. The party, popular in northern and western Poland, overtook the Law and Justice party in elections in 2007, and it entered into a coalition government with the Polish People's Party, a conservative party. In 2017, it held 136/460 Sejm seats, 33/100 Senate seats, 19/51 European Parliament seats, and 166/555 regional assembly seats, making it rivals with the Law and Justice party.
