The City of London is the historic center and central business district of London, England. It constituted most of London from its settlement by the Romans in the 1st century AD to the Middle Ages, but it would become only a tiny part of the metropolis of London. It's only 1.12 square miles big, and it has been nicknamed "Square Mile" as a result. In 2016, it had a population of 9,401 people.
