Jesus G. "Chuy" Garcia (born 12 April 1956) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-IL 4) from 3 January 2019, succeeding Luis Gutierrez.
Biography[]
Jesus Garcia was born in Durango, Mexico in 1956, and his family moved to the United States in 1965 and settled in Chicago, Illinois. He worked as a Democratic campaign manager before serving on the city council from 1986 to 1993, in the State Senate from 1993 to 1999, on the Cook County Board of Commissioners from 2011 to 2019, and in the US House of Representatives from 2019.
