Chuvashia is a federal subject of Russia, with Cheboksary serving as its capital. The republic was established on 15 June 1925 as the Chuvash ASSR, and it was the homeland of the Turkic Chuvashes. In 2010, Chuvashia had a population of 1,251,619 people.
