The Church of the Nazarene is an evangelical Christian denomination which was founded on 13 October 1908 in Pilot Point, Texas. Affiliated with Methodism, the church seeks to follow the Great Commission of Christ to make disciples of all nations, doing so through evangelism, education, showing compassion, working for justice, and bearing witness to the kingdom of God. In 2016, it had almost 2,500,000 members, with most of them living in the United States, but many living in countries such as Mozambique, Brazil, India, Haiti, Bangladesh, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Benin, and Ethiopia.
