Church of the Heavenly Rest

The Church of the Heavenly Rest is an Episcopal church located on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 90th Street, opposite Central Park and the Carnegie Mansion, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York City. The church was founded in 1865 by American Civil War veterans as a memorial to Union Army casualties of that war. The church was previously located on Fifth Avenue and 45th Street before being relocated to its current site, purchased from Andrew Carnegie's widow, in 1926. The new church was completed on 31 March 1929 and built in the Neo-Gothic style.
